In a bid to address the pressing issue of menstrual hygiene and its impact on girls’ education, Chakol North ward MCA Dalmas Onjole, together with menstrual hygiene champions Tinah Namaindi from the Office of the Governor and Priscilla Juma from the Health Department, recently distributed sanitary pads to teenage girls at Ng’elecom Primary School in Teso South sub-county.
During the event, Busia Deputy Governor Arthur Odera called on men to break their silence surrounding menstrual hygiene and actively support girls.

Today, Muslims worldwide will assemble for this feast of sacrifice, commemorating the profound story of Ibrahim and his unwavering faith in Allah’s command.

In Mecca, Saudi Arabia, the holiest city in Islam, Muslims gather to glorify the devotion of Ibrahim (Abraham) and his willingness to sacrifice his only son, Ismail (Ishmael), following Allah’s command. This act of obedience and submission serves as a testament to the unwavering faith of Ibrahim, which is celebrated during Eid al-Adha.

NEW PROPOSED EDUCATION REFORMS IN KENYA

In 2017, Kenya reformed its education curriculum, introducing the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) for lower primary education.
The first cohort of approximately 1.2 million children to adopt the new curriculum, joined Junior Secondary School (JSS) earlier this year.
With the government budgeting for Sh.81B to fund the education Ministry, only Sh.24B has so far been disbursed.

Kenya National Innovation Agency (KeNIA) in partnership with the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and The Swahili Pot Hub Foundation (SPH), yesterday launched the Kenya Innovation Bridge (KIB) platform.

The launch took place at Swahili Pot Hub. It was graced by dignitaries including, Dr. Mbwarii Kame, the County Executive Committee Member – Education, Mr. Anwar Ahmed, County Chief Officer ICT, Swahilipot Hub Chief Operating Officer, Atrash Ali, and Mr. George Masila, KeNIA, Communication and Partnership lead (Senior Corporate Communications) among others.
