Mombasa County, 21/09/2023 — Haki Africa on Thursday voiced its profound disappointment with the National Government’s response to peace and security issues in the country.
In a press briefing held at their premises in Mombasa the Human Rights organization drew attention to a number of security concerns which they believe the government has turned their focus away from.
Yusuf Abubakar, Director of Haki Africa, highlighted the prevalence of terrorism in the Lamu and Tana River regions and underscored the role of skyrocketing living costs and youth unemployment in exacerbating insecurity.

Mombasa, Kenya – In a gathering at Changamwe secondary school on Sunday, Mombasa leaders voiced their strong opposition to the recent moves by the National Government to privatize the Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) and sell the Kenya Petroleum and Refinery Limited.
The leaders emphasized the lack of public participation in the decision-making process and the potential negative impacts on the local economy.
