Innovation and Sustainability Shine as Curtains Close at the Blue Economy Innovation and Investment Summit

The second edition of the Blue Economy Investment and Innovation Summit concluded yesterday at Sote Hub, Nyali, amidst the backdrop of heavy rain in Mombasa.
The main summit, a flagship event within the week-long series, was opened by the Slovak Ambassador to Kenya, Katarína Leligdonova, signifying international participation and support for the blue economy’s growth and innovation in Kenya.
The day featured insightful speeches from prominent figures and a pivotal panel discussion that delved deep into the intricacies of the blue economy.
The panel discussion, a key highlight of the day, covered various aspects, including skills development, investment opportunities, digitization, and government involvement in the blue economy.
Mombasa’s stunning coastline, a gem in Kenya’s blue economy, has been the focus of diligent care and preservation efforts.
The second day of the Blue Economy Innovation and Investment Summit brought together many dedicated individuals with a shared purpose: cleaning and conserving this vital coastal environment.
The beach cleanup served as a testament to the commitment of various stakeholders, including Baus Taka, Sote Hub, and the County Government of Mombasa, in safeguarding the ocean and its ecosystems.
Kenya National Innovation Agency (KeNIA) in partnership with the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and The Swahili Pot Hub Foundation (SPH), yesterday launched the Kenya Innovation Bridge (KIB) platform.
The launch took place at Swahili Pot Hub. It was graced by dignitaries including, Dr. Mbwarii Kame, the County Executive Committee Member – Education, Mr. Anwar Ahmed, County Chief Officer ICT, Swahilipot Hub Chief Operating Officer, Atrash Ali, and Mr. George Masila, KeNIA, Communication and Partnership lead (Senior Corporate Communications) among others.
