Maersk leading the push towards green fuel technology in maritime transportation

Global maritime logistics company Maersk is set to receive the first ever fully ammonia fueled vessel built in South Korea by the Hyundai Dockyard Co. and Hyundai Heavy industries Co.
The news comes days after the Marine Environmental Protection Committee (MEPC 80) met in London to deliver strategies for the shipping industry. Key among the strategies being zero or near zero fuel sources anticipated for implementation in 2030.

Kenya is set to introduce a 6-in-1 vaccine to enhance its routine immunization schedule the vaccine, also referred to as the Hexavalent Vaccine, has received approval from the Global Vaccine Alliance (Gavi) board for inclusion in the immunization schedule for developing countries like Kenya.
The vaccine protects children against diseases such as Diphtheria, Tetanus, Whooping Cough, Hepatitis B, Haemophilus influenza type B, and Poliomyelitis (Polio).

Treasury Cabinet Secretary Professor Njuguna Ndung’u announced a Sh.5 per kilogram excise duty on imported sugar.
The move has been influenced by the need to discourage sugar consumption, terming it the root of various diseases such as diabetes.
“Consumption of sugar has been associated with various ailments such as diabetes, which has become common in many families,” said Prof Njuguna.

The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) on Wednesday announced new fuel prices for super petrol, diesel, and kerosene.
In the latest review, the prices of Super Petrol and diesel have decreased by Ksh.0.66 and Ksh.1.22 per litre respectively.
However, the price of kerosene has increased by Ksh.0.35 per litre.
