{"id":1709,"date":"2022-11-19T21:31:17","date_gmt":"2022-11-19T18:31:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/giliticsmedia.co.ke\/?p=1709"},"modified":"2022-11-19T23:46:19","modified_gmt":"2022-11-19T20:46:19","slug":"wanja-gathogo-launches-book-on-strategic-single-parenting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/giliticsmedia.co.ke\/wanja-gathogo-launches-book-on-strategic-single-parenting\/","title":{"rendered":"<strong>Wanja Gathogo launches book on strategic single parenting<\/strong>"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>By Patrick Chiriba<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Calling it a single parents\u2019 guide to strategic parenting, Wanja Gathogo launched her new book at the Sinapis Alumni networking event in Ratna Square, Nyali.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The book titled \u201cFlying Solo and Soaring\u201d contains over 20 pages of lessons meant to empower single mothers as they seek to be more intentional in their choices for their children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking during the book launch, Wanja attributed her personal experience as the book\u2019s motive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis particular book or the theme of the book is because of a personal experience, and I am a big person or a big believer in being the change you want to see,\u201d Wanja said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wanja also recounted her parenting time and how she soldiered despite her challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She added: \u201cInstead of sitting and lamenting about everything that wasn&#8217;t there I decided to become the change I want to see and offer others a support system for good and better parenting.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Responding to a question about the greatest hurdle she overcame when writing the book, Wanja said that creating and packaging information was not easy since her target audience was single parents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe person I was writing for was a single parent. This person does not have time. I wanted to package my information in such a way that a person can read the book while going to work, and by the time they arrive, they\u2019ll be done with it,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The book is divided into eight chapters. Each chapter starts with a story. Every story explains why that chapter has been written and every story is an experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wanja Gathogo is a life coach and a podcaster.
