Kenya Innovation Bridge Launched in Mombasa

Kenya National Innovation Agency (KeNIA) in partnership with the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and The Swahili Pot Hub Foundation (SPH), yesterday launched the Kenya Innovation Bridge (KIB) platform.

The launch took place at Swahili Pot Hub. It was graced by dignitaries including, Dr. Mbwarii Kame, the County Executive Committee Member – Education, Mr. Anwar Ahmed, County Chief Officer ICT, Swahilipot Hub Chief Operating Officer, Atrash Ali, and Mr. George Masila, KeNIA, Communication and Partnership lead (Senior Corporate Communications) among others.

UK’s communications regulator OFCOM, has proposed to end the use of Fax machines in UK offices and replace it with Internet Protocol [IP] technology.

According to a report from the BBC, OFCOM upon consulting with other stakeholders, found it necessary to end the use of Fax machines in UK offices, and replace them with IP technology, by 2023.

Revolutionizing urban transport – Electric mass transit bus, Nairobi

Roam, a Kenyan – Swedish green mobility company has launched a 77-seat electric bus at the Nairobi green park terminal in an effort to promote sustainable and environmentally friendly transport in the city.

During the launch, Dennis Wakaba, Roam Project coordinator said that the mass transit bus is designed to help “shift towards better public transport, where we can have people ride in comfort and enjoy the ride with a clear conscience because we are talking about zero emissions.”
