The High Court has temporarily put on hold the government’s intention to import GMO pending the outcome of a petition by Kenya Peasants League challenging the lifting of the ban.
The injunction issued by Justice Mugure Thande also forbade the government from gazetting and distributing GMO foods, products, and materials.

Cabinet Secretary for tourism, wildlife, and heritage Peninah Malonza received the ‘World Odyssey’ cruise ship at the Mombasa port on Monday.
The 800 tourists on board docked for a five-day stay on the island.
Speaking to the press, CS Malonza noted that the arrival of a cruise ship after a four-year absence of such vessels is promising for the region’s struggling tourism industry.

Mombasa county commissioner, John Otieno has assured citizens that the government will increase security across Mombasa city during the holiday season.
