I joined Gilitics Media as a volunteer after graduating with a Masters Degree in International Journalism from Cardiff University. Despite some shortcomings expected from any start up company, my experience at Gilitics Media was very exciting. I learnt a lot from the team, especially through going out in to the field, to gather stories to tell. I improved my editing skills and every experience with the Gilitics team was a learning opportunity.
Gilitics Media helped me improve professionally as well. I was runners up at the Annual Journalism Excellence Awards 2021, in the Health Story Category, for a story I covered with them. Through working with Gilitics Media we were able to impact the community through assisting to provide decent housing to needy persons living with HIV.
